When troubleshooting various WordPress issues, you will need to view the error_log for your website. This log file will contain errors that are created by WordPress, plugins, or themes and can be useful for diagnosing problems related to these.
To view the error_log file, you'll need to log into the Rocket.net Dashboard. You can refer to our KB airticle How To Use The Rocket.net File Manager to get familiar with all of its features.
Once you're logged in at https://control.Rocket.net, select a site and click "Manage". Once you see the following options, click on File Manager to open the File Manager tab. Under "public_html" type in
error_log
as shown in then screen shot below:
If there is an error_log present, then you'll be able to click on it to view it. If an error_log is not present, then remove the error_log search, and check again in the wp-admin and wp-content folders. If you don't see any error_log files, you might need assistance. When you see the error_log, click on the filename and you'll see the contents of the error_log as shown below:
On the right you can see a scroll bar that shows your current position in the file. In the main window on the left are the contents of the error_log itself. The error_log file will often have very long lines, and so you'll see the scroll bar at the bottom that will allow you to scroll to the right to see the rest of the error.
