FileZilla is among the most popular FTP clients that you can use to manage your hosting files. In this article, we'll guide you through how to connect via FTP using FileZilla. FileZilla can be downloaded here for free: https://filezilla-project.org/
Gather FTP Details
Before connecting, you'll need to gather the FTP details first which you can get on your Rocket.net Dashboard. If you haven’t created an FTP account, you can create it by following this guide.
If you already have one, you’d need to gather this information: Host, Username, Password, and Port.
Upon creating the account, you’ll be able to set up the Username and Password of your FTP account. Be sure to take notes of your password. If you forget it, you can re-configure it or create a new FTP account.
As for the Host, you’ll be able to gather the IP host information here on your Rocket.net Dashboard:
As for the Port, you’ll need to enter 21 by default.
Enter the FTP details in FileZilla
Now, you can enter all the information to FileZilla. Here's what it should look like:
Host: 100.100.10.10 [This is just an Example. Use the FTP address]
Username: username@domainname.com
Password: (use the password set up)
Port: 21
If the information is valid, you should be able to see the directories and files of your hosting plan on the right side of FileZilla. You'll be able to view, manage, and edit the files.
Conclusion
FileZilla is a great FTP client and it once you learn it, you'll enjoy using it. Of course, if you have any issues or require assistance, please do not hesitate to Submit a Ticket to our Support Team or use the Live Chat.
