Why doesn't Rocket.net provide email hosting? The answer is actually quite simple:

From its inception, Rocket.net has been focused on two things: Upending the Managed WordPress industry by providing the fastest WordPress experience possible, coupled with expert level support that you've come to expect. To understand why we didn't include email hosting, let's look at the web hosting industry in general.

The Problem With Free Email

Most commodity shared hosting companies offer web hosting with free email hosting. On the face, this looks like a good value. But if you look carefully in their Terms of Service, many of them explain that they do not guarantee delivery or reliability and that they are not responsible for any email problems you may experience. Why? Because they are selling you website hosting, not email hosting. 

Even so, roughly 80% of their technical support requests surround email issues! Most of us here at Rocket.net have seen the consequences: bloated support queues, unsolvable email issues, and a lack of focus on their core business: web site hosting.

Furthermore, we know that business class customers need business class email hosting. In our past experiences, we've seen business customers who were using free email lose tens of thousands of dollars in sales due to emails that were never delivered. We would never want our valuable customers to experience such misery! 

For these reasons, Rocket.net has decided not to offer email hosting. Instead, Rocket.net has delegated email hosting to providers whose sole focus is providing excellent email services. This is no trivial matter, and we recommend staying far away from the email hosting that's generally bundled with website hosting. 

Who does Rocket.net recommend for email hosting?

We at Rocket.net have had exposure to most email hosting solutions, and as a result we can offer three recommendations:

• Google Workspace
• Office365
• Zoho Mail

These providers offer Business Class email hosting. They each charge per mailbox, and they are well worth it especially when you factor in the higher level of service that they provide- especially when compared to the free email hosting offered by most web hosting providers.
